Physcially Based Multi-Solvent Stains Simulation on Textile

Abstract

Realistic fabric material rendering is a very important research direction in virtual reality, entertainment, industrial and other application fields. In this direction, many studies have been made. In this paper, we present a pipeline, including a super sampling and dyeing curve based on the diffusion and staining effect of various stains on the fabric surface. Firstly, virtual fabric structures are modeled by voxel-method to simply fabric yarns. Secondly, the fluid diffusion simulation is carried out by calculating the solubility between multi-solvent stains. Finally, the effect of stain diffusion is calculated by dyeing precipitation. Through this model, we can simulate multi-solvents liquid diffusion and dyeing effects on the surface of the fabric and can reach the degree of photorealism.
